So sad.....I loved him and Monk together, what a tradgey.

    LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Stanley Kamel, well known for playing Dr. Charles Kroger on the hit series "Monk," has died, Access Hollywood has learned.

Kamel was found dead in his Hollywood home on Tuesday. He was 65.

The cause of death was unknown.

Kamel has appeared in numerous TV roles over the past three decades, including "The West Wing," "Six Feet Under," "Melrose Place," "The Golden Girls," "Days of Our Lives" and "Murder One."

Pop culture fans will remember Kamel from his eight-episode arc in 1995 on "Beverly Hills 90210," as Tony Marchette, the father of Rebecca Gayheart's character.

Access Hollywood has reached out to a rep for "Monk" and is awaiting comment.

That's so sad. The show won't be the same without him. He will be missed.

Man this stinks, he was cool guy and played a cool part on this show. His character seemed like the only person in the world that could actually help Monk. I hope the new season will be dedicated in his honor or something like that.

It has been confirmed that he died of a heartattack.

I am devestated! He was a great actor and man. His role on Monk will definately be missed. I wonder how they will play this on the show? It would be interesting to see Monk at Dr. Kroger's funeral.

But MONK aside, this is a terrible tragedy. Stanley Kamel will be missed indefinatley!

just his character will end. and yes its a great loss to the film industry.

Both Mr. Monk and Harold will have some issues to work out and may end up regressing in there therapy. or lean to each other for support(probable not considering they compete with each other on everything)

It's too bad. I wonder if they'll replace him but with Monk getting closer to who killed his wife would he still need him. It also seems a shame there was an episode wherein Dr. Kroeger retired and came back. How are they going to explain his absence this time.

    The only... decent solutions:
    A. Dr. Kroger is found dead, murdered
    B. Dr. Kroger was told something about Trudy's murder, and was killed
    C. He died of a heart attack/something, and Monk attends his funeral. (That would probably be the best, it would also help Harold and Monk get closer, and the funeral would either make Monk regress massively, or take a giant leap forward)

I just saw that this morning when I was watching Monk. I can't hardly believe it, I am so bummed out. It was a very touching remembrance but what a shock. With the new episodes starting this summer, I wonder if they have already taped all or most of the shows and he will still be in them. I really hope that they don't have him die on the show, it will be too sad. I know it would be good to have Monk find his killer but it would take several episodes for Monk to get over that loss and find a new Dr. I really think Monk would be too devastated to go on. This would be far worse for Monk than losing Sharona was. Dr Kroger was an important and loved character on Monk, Stanley Kamel played him beautifully and was a wonderful actor. He will be terribly missed.

On the show, they will probably have Monk try to solve the case and then there will be an appearance by the other crazy patient of Dr. Kroger.
