"Abraca-Dorfman, you son of a b*tch!" Seriously, why did they bring Kevin back just to kill him off?

I was actually shocked that they killed off a recurring character, even one as annoying as Kevin. Nonetheless, the episode was solid. Decent at least.

I was surprised they killed off Kevin as well. Admittedly he wasn't a particularly pleasing character, but his death did provide Monk with extra motivation to pursue the case, and maybe provided him with some introspection.

Torini was definitely a challenging foe; I'd put him up there with Patrick Kloster (chess grandmaster) as one of the most cunning killers featured this season. He knew how to manipulate the evidence and would have succeeded had it not been for Monk's persistence. And when he knew the detective had him, Torini was prepared to eliminate him. Though this did lead me to wonder: why don't more criminals try to kill Monk when they learn he's on the case? Everyone in the city knows how great a detective he is and that he always finds the evidence - shouldn't they try to bump him off before he exposes them?

Why did the magician kill Kevin?

He was using his magic props to smuggle in heroin into San Franciso from China, but why did the magician have to go to Reno and kill Kevin?

He was worried that Kevin might have realized that his props were heavier on his return trips because of his smuggling, so he killed him to make sure no one would find out.

Why did they kill off Kevin ? Maybe because the series is ending after the next season this summer. Unless Tony Shalboub changes his mind. I hope.

Good episode but why did they have to kill Kevin. Kevin was a fun character to have every now and then.

I agree. It was sad they killed off Kevin. I remember Jarrad Paul from a number of shows including Seinfend. I hope he can be the lead in a new series down the road.

I couldn't believe Kevin was killed off. It was like seing Hedwig die in the seventh Harry Potter book. You'd think she had 'death immunity.'

He'll probably be the next one to die.

I'm very upset that they killed off Kevin. I know that he was meant to be irritating, but I liked him. He was a loyal friend to Monk.

This whole season has seemed overly violent, depressing, and generally not what i enjoy watching from Monk. Kevin's death seemed unecessary for a light-hearted show of this nature.

I am glad they are ending it next season. Monk has always been one of my favorite shows, but it's gotten too dark for my tastes lately.
