  • Trivia

    • Monterey County is two hours away from San Francisco, not 20 minutes as Stottlemeyer states.

    • Monk graduated college in 1981. He met Trudy while in college. This is stated in the season 5 episode 6, "Mr. Monk and the Class Reunion." The whole reunion he kept saying he was referred to "as the guy with Trudy". However, in the video she makes for Monk, Trudy's states her pregnancy happens in 1982-1983. She says in the video it was years before she met Monk, but that would have been impossible.

    • Monk and Natalie constantly press Play and Pause on Monk's remote to watch Trudy's tape. But at the end of "Mr. Monk and the End - Part I," Natalie hooked up the video camera to the TV to watch the tape.

    • Trivia: When Monk checks the stove to see if it's off, Natalie comments that it would be horrible if they were downtown and forgot if the stove was turned off. Monk replies, "You know, that actually happened to me once!". This was a reference to the very first scene when the character made his premiere in "Mr. Monk and the Candidate." In which Monk is concerned that he left his stove on while at a crime scene.

    • (to Monk)
Trudy: You are more than the love of my life. You are my life. You are... my life.

    • (on the phone)
Disher: All right, I'll call you later. (hangs up)
      Stottlemeyer: Who was that?
Disher: That was the Deputy Commissioner.
      Stottlemeyer: Deputy Commissioner Patrick Watson?
      Disher: Yeah, that's right.
Stottlemeyer: You said, "I love you."
Disher: I do... love him. I think he's doing a great job. Why? Why? You don't think he's...
Stottlemeyer: No, I think he's doing a fine job. I don't tell him that I love him.
Disher: Well, maybe you should. It's just common courtesy.
      Stottlemeyer: It's not common courtesy.
Disher: Well, I think you're doing a great job. I love you.
Stottlemeyer: All right, Randy, I'm sorry I asked. When you're ready to tell me what's really going on, don't.

    • Judge Rickover: Are you gonna kill a Federal judge?
      Monk: Tonight, I'm the judge.

    • Dr. Bell: It's time for Adrian Monk to sail into the Great Unknown.
Monk: I hate the Great Unknown.
Dr. Bell: How do you know? It's unknown.
Monk: If it's unknown, how do you know it's so great?
Dr. Bell: Good point. Maybe it's the Not-So-Great-Unknown, huh? But it's out there, and it's waiting for you.

    • Monk: What if she doesn't like me? I mean, a lot of people don't like me. I'm not crazy about me.

    • Monk: Yeah, this is her parallel parking. Yeah She's an excellent driver. She's never had a single parking ticket. Yeah, here we are. This is us having lunch. She eats out five times a week. She's a vegetarian, but she eats fish.
Stottlemeyer: You took all these pictures?
Monk: Yeah. Oh, here she is drinking coffee.
      Stottlemeyer: Ohhh.
Monk: Yeah, it's a Kona blend. Sometimes she has the Colombian
Stottlemeyer: Monk, there's gotta be more than six hundred photos here.
Monk: Well, the rest are still being developed.
Stottlemeyer: But you've only known her for thee days.
Monk: I feel like I've known her forever. She feels the same way, she actually said that. Oh, yeah, these are her adopted parents.
      Stottlemeyer: Oh.
Monk: Yeah, that's Andy and Beth. He's a little overweight. He's a retired ophthalmologist. This is her new boyfriend, Kyle. He's two years younger than she is. She doesn't know how she feels about that. And this is her telling me not to take so many pictures.
      Stottlemeyer: Um-hmm.
Monk: This is her trying to take the camera away.
      Stottlemeyer: Ah-hah.
Monk: Oh, and guess what else? You know the Internet? She's on it.
Stottlemeyer: Really, she made the cut, huh?
Monk: Uh-huh. Oh yeah, yeah. She has her own web site. It's called a blog. Really, I mean, that's what it's called. A blog.

    • Stottlemeyer: You and Sharona. I knew it. Well, I didn't actually know it. But now that I know it, I kinda knew it.

    • Molly: You have a gift.
      Monk: And a curse.
Molly: It's not a curse. It's a gift. Can't you see that? Maybe that's why I'm here. To remind you. What?
Monk: That's exactly what your mother used to say.

    • Monk: I have plans.
Natalie: Mm-hmm. What kind of plans?
Monk: With Molly. We're going to the movies.
Natalie: You're going to the movies?
      Monk: Yeah.
Natalie: Adrian Monk is going to the movies?
Monk: Why are you crying? Is that so strange?
Natalie: That's not strange at all. That's why I'm crying. What are you gonna see?
Monk: I don't know. Whatever's in Theater Ten.
Natalie: Okay, all right. That's more like it. That's the Adrian Monk we know and love

    • Monk: Wait.
      Natalie: What are you doing.
Monk: I'm checking the stove to make sure it's off.
Natalie: That's a good idea. You don't want to get all the way downtown and not be sure.
Monk: That acutally happened to me once.
      Natalie: Really?
      Monk: Yeah.
