"The Christmas Show," the only holiday themed episode of The Monkees, is certainly the best episode of the short lived series. Great acting, a good script and great music, including a great acapella rendition of "Riu Chiu," are a few of the many reasons why this episode works so well. It's also quite a treat for the audience when The Monkees introduce the whole crew who works on the show during the closing credits. Butch Patrick is excellent as the stubborn Melvin who, like Ebeneezer Scrooge, learns for the first time the spirit of Christmas.
