    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Prior to the Clambake was a stock shot of a running train with superimposed captions for fictional cities: Petrograd, Ottograd, Lewgrad, Lesliegrad, Etceteragrad, Dukhovskoknabilebskohatsk, Moscva. Actually, "Moscow" in Russian is spelled "Moskva."

    • QUOTES (0)

    • NOTES (4)

      • This is the first episode (of two) of Monty Python's Flying Circus to feature a episode-length story. The other was "Michael Ellis" in series 4.

      • John Tomczek, who plays the French teenage boy, was Graham Chapman's adopted son.

      • This episode was originally written by Michael Palin and Terry Jones as a pilot for a new BBC series. When it was rejected, they handed the script over to the rest of the Monty Python team, who rewrote and turned it into the show seen here.

      • This episode omits out the entire opening sequence of
"Monty Python's Flying Circus"; instead, there is a more simple caption of "The Cycling Tour".
