Ok is it just me or does this sound very similar to the new lifetime show Bloodties. Only they switched the two main characters, anyway thats what it seems like to me.

I can see what you mean, but I think the difference is that this show is going to deal with his struggles of being a vampire along with all the other detective stuff. On Bloodties the vampire, Henry, doesn't seem to struggle with anything at all, he seems completely secure with who and what he is.

You would think that a guy over three hundred years old would know how to handle himself a little better than Henry and have a rather different perception of the world. Yes, it just a show. But if anyone is interested - Henry is one of the worst portrayals of a vampire i have come upon. Sure, he looked cool for a while..but thats just about it. Its not bad as entertainment, but Angel definitely did a beter job..if you were to compate the two. As for Buffy..i never understood how that load of crap lasted as long as it did. Good entertainment for the teenagers i suppose.

Like OMG! You are so totally right!!!

    *Shakes head*

Alot of the top-rated shows (Lost, PB, Heroes, OTH, Smallville) are watched largely by teenagers. Is it because teenagers watch a bunch of crap? No (well, maybe in some cases ), it's because they're the generation that watches a lot of television so it's only logical that they represent a large portion of the shows' viewers.

P.S. Buffy is, atleast in my opinion, among the 5 greatest shows ever.

Buffy was a great show for 3 seasons, and then the story was over and they should have let it go with dignity. I was huge fan until season 4, after that they werekicking a dead horse plotwise. Adam was horrible arch villian.

I've never even heard of Bloodties, but I'm always looking for a well done vampire show.

I thought Moonlight had a VERY different feel from Blood Ties, which I like as well.

Blood Ties is awful. Cliche, cheesy, horribly written and acted, poor special effects.

I haven't seen Moonlight yet but it can't be worse than Blood Ties.

I love Blood Ties! I read the books the series is based on a couple of years ago, so I was very excited when I found out about the show. I can't wait for the new eps to start airing on the Oct. 12th. Henry, played by Kyle Schmidt, has got to be one of the most drool-worthy vampires I've ever seen on TV.

Well, I've seen both shows and I've read the Tanya Huff series that Blood Ties is based on, and I have to say that I haven't found much difference between them quality-wise, except that, even after watching the episode, I didn't care about Mick. Kyle Schmidt may play Henry WAY melodramatic compared to the character in the books (Henry in the books is just amazingly cool), but Mick was just...blah. I don't know what it was, and I'll keep watching the show in hopes that this will change, but it takes a real talent to keep me from caring about a show's main character.

You know whats wrong about Blood ties ? Almost everything. You know the only thing thats right? Henry played by Kyle Schmidt..and only appearance-wise. His attitude is rediculous. Vicky Nelson reminds me of this..whats the name..beaver i guess. Everything about the show is wrong. I really wanted to like it..but the least i expect from a show is a male vampire to be the lead and a little maturity..not a pissed off & hating everybody teenager on dope.

Moonlight is the only vampire show in quite a while that could yet get as good as Angel. It has flaws, but far less than Blood Ties. And thats definitely good enough for me.

Moonlight has some similarities with Bloodties, but I think Moonlight is a better show than Bloodties, from what i've seen so far. I love it!!

in essence it seems like a role reversal but in actuallity it plays out really different this show is on par with bloodties in my eyes may even turn out to be ultimately better as its not so slapstick (i like that but the seriousness in this is much better than the slapstick in bloodties, so far atleast) i'm already stuck on this show and really hope it gets atleast 1 full season under it's belt of course i'd like it to go on but wacky american TV dont seem to like anything going on for to long anymore

I actually think that this is better than Blood Ties. Here, they're not fighting demons, just dealing with real people. Mick is also much better looking than vampire guy, sorry can't remember his name, than on Blood Ties. I've actually only seen 1 or 2 episodes of Blood Ties & I found the show a bit boring. Much more action here.

I dropped Blood Ties as soon as moonlight began. After episode four its not only clear that its better than Blood Ties, the show is simply awesome.

Yeah, now that we've gotten more episodes of "Moonlight," I totally agree -- "Blood Ties" doesn't hold a candle to this show. Honestly, the pilot for "Moonlight" didn't impress me, but since then? I CAN'T STOP WATCHING IT.

All that Blood Ties is like Moonlight or even better talk made me curious so i've googled the show. What did I found out? Yeah It's a vampire show just like Moonlight and there is also a P.I. but that's all. For me Moonlight is a MUCH better show. Why? Because of the cast and their chemistry on screen. Combine that with great episodes and you'll get an extremely addictive show.

Seriously, Blood Ties? I mean just look at the vampires in both series.

Kyle also has considerably less experience in acting (Blood Ties vamp) Did you know that Alex nearly got a role in Casino Royaleas 007? Daniel Craig won in the end. I actually dont think Craig is that good. Maybe mr.Bond just aint the type of character i like. Actually it is pretty clear who is the cooler vamp..and the better show..i have seen thirteen episodes on Blood Ties and only four of Moonlight. Moonlight is out of Blood Ties league. Funny how they gave Henry so many years, but such a weak character...or is that the actors fault? Oh well.

Both are good shows IMHO but I do prefer Moonlight to Blood Ties. I watch both every week.

I love them both. I have a major crush on Henry (that photo does not do him justice!!) but Moonlight is turning out to be a good show too. Episode four was intense! I guess I'm reserving judgment for now on which one I like better.

I like Moonlight too. I also think that it is better show than blood ties. To be honest his character i mean Mick's is great because he isn't ok with being a vampire well he is but with taking blood from humans.
