Continuity error: In the storyline, it is said that the lavish nuptials of this episode were planned because Maddie, whose real first ceremony was in a Vegas chapel, "missed having a big church wedding."
Wait a second. She's an atheist.
David: Must be big plans.
Maddie: Big plans.
David: And they are..?
Maddie: Big.
David: And you're doing..?
Maddie: Lunch.
David: With?
Maddie: Someone.
David: Someone, that is big... Anyone I know?
Maddie: No.
David: Animal, vegetable or husband? Pick any two.
Maddie: I don't wanna do this, David!
David: Louder, you're shouting for two now!
Cybill Shepard and Writer Roger Director provide DVD commentary for this episode
In the original airing of this episode, as David walks Maddie to the cafeteria and discusses nutrition, he asks if she is a "beef person." At the time this episode aired, Cybill Shepherd was a spokesperson for the beef industry. (The line was cut in syndicated airings of the episode.)
When David and Herbert talk about the type of guys Maddie likes, they refer to "that guy in the wine cooler commercials." This is a reference to Bruce Willis' work as spokesman for Seagram's.
Music: "Oh Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison; "Jungle Love" by The Time; Herbert lip-synchs to "The Lady Is a Tramp"; "Here Comes the Bride"
