In HOPPING MAD, Mr. Bean has been reading a book about frogs. He decides to collect some spawn and raise them in his bathtub. He is extremely pleased with how fast his pets grow into tadpoles and then little frogs, but less pleased when they don't stop growing. Soon, Bean must deal with a bathroom full of huge, hungry frogs. And the problem comes to a head just as Mrs. Wicket is entertaining a very special guest for whom she's baked numerous very special cakes. In A GREAT INVITATION, Mr. Bean is out driving and almost hits a dog. The dog belongs to a woman who lives in a ramshackle old mansion, and she invites Mr. Bean in. Everything in her home is falling apart, but when Bean finally tries to leave, the woman breaks into tears at the hard times that have befallen her once proud family.
