Show Summary

This show followed the home life of newly-elected U.S. President Samuel Tresch, his family and their adjustment to the Washington D.C. lifestyle. It was most well-known for being George C. Scott's return to network television, a medium he vowed to never return to again a quarter century before. While the show focused on the president's wife and children, White House office staff helped to round out the plots.

An underappreciated show starring Madeline Kahn's comic and acting genius.

Madeline Kahn actually replaced the original female lead of this show (not noted in the cast list), and she was definitely the star of it, despite George C Scott's top billing. She made this comedy, and it was just sad that the lineup at the time prevented the show from getting the audience that it deserved.
