It's hard to say that a show is bad after just two episodes, so i'll chalk it up to saying it's just not all that great so far. I guess it's more that there was an expectation that it would be hilarious and maybe it just hasn't lived up to that yet?
Don't get me wrong there is nothing entirely bad about this show. It has a reasonable premise behind it and the cast is superb. This episode had genuinely humourous moments, which is an improvement upon the pilot that didn't provide many. It had a vague notion of character advancement and provided a more in depth look at the goings on around Sunshine center. Overall this was a worthwhile watch. Matthew Perry is playing basically the same character that he has always played and pulls it off just as well but Allison Janney's Crystal is probably a little bit too ridiculous to really be taken seriously (although it seems that that is the point, but it's not nearly as funny as the writers think perhaps?). The supporting cast, although it really is more of an ensemble, are also equally as entertaining. Hopefully this show has somewhere to actually go as far as the characters are concerned because it could definitely become something. If it sticks to a series of unconnected episodes in which something is going on at the Sunshine center and 'hilarity' ensues, then I don't think that it's going to work, but if there are more interesting relationships and situations occurring then this could easily be appointment viewing with the talent involved.
