    "Perfect"
This MTV Unplugged Performance by Stone Temple Pilots keeps me coming back for more!! Scott Weiland at his best, healthy, eye catching, animated, and his vocals unbeatable! Starting off with "Crackerman"....right on point and keeping the energy throughout. And what can I say about "Creep"!? One word...WOW! This version is actually better than the LP version by far. Scott steps it up a notch around the 2 minute and 50 second mark with the lyric, "Think your kinda neat, then she tells me I'm a creep. Friends don't mean a thing, guess I'll leave it up to me"...with his band supporting him with more intense instrumentals. This never fails to give me goosebumps. Robert DeLeo does a great job dubbing in for Scott with the lyric, "I feel as the dawn it fades to gray," Way to go guys!! Wish I could find this version on disc. Andy Warhol; great cover done by STP of David Bowie.
"Plush"..another great one....nice and steady...something to close your eyes to and just listen to Scott belt it out.
"Big Empty" ; another "better than original" performance...close your eyes again guys...and just listen to the smoothness of the voice...let the rise and fall of his voice lift you up...then bring you back down....chills again, anyone???
"Wicked Garden"...starts off high energy....great for an acoustic unplugged performance, then Scott tones downs the energy with the chorus, "Burn, Burn, Burn".....a nice change, but yet, somehow left me a little disappointed...I wanted to hear his voice screamin' it out for me!! And finally, for "Sex Type Thing"...a definite change up, however, I was NOT disappointed by this one. This is what it's all about guys. They take a such a raw song like "Sex Type Thing", and turn it into a jazzy, blues-y, swing song...and it works!! Incredible. Nothing matches the original, but to turn a song like that around, takes talent, ingenuity, and creativity. These boys really got it. I think this set is the best of their career....ahhhhh...to go back in time....moreless

    • The song Sin was never broadcast, there were tape errors with the audio recording of Sin according to the MTV archives. This was only discovered after the show, and that's why the band did not do a re-take of the song. Due to this taping malfunction it has never been seen. The songs Big Empty and Andy Warhol were also edited out of the MTV broadcast.
