A great pilot episode that sets up the premise of the show and ends with a great question/cliff-hanger. Karl Rowan is delightful as Mulberry; I enjoy his drollness with Bert and Alice, the dyspeptic (and a little larcenous) couple who've worked for Miss Farnaby for decades. I love the actors, but dislike the characters alot. I first saw Geraldine McEwan as Miss Marple (and loved her there), but felt even more right in liking Ms. McEwan as Miss Farnaby. She's the right mix of reserved, playful, and nervous, which is so very right for the role and mostly low-key. Most everything you need to understand the series is in this episode (and the next).
I'd recommend this to older teens and up, if they enjoy quieter comedies and a bit of good-natured silliness.
