A boy named Presley enters the exhibit his mom's going to be working at. He is wowed at all the different artifacts the building has within it, but he's suddenly attacked by those very artifacts! Presley tries hiding within a tomb, but an old man grabs him out of it, constantly telling him he's a person named Rapses. Then, in four other tombs, four mummies emerge from their resting places, with golden armour magically appearing over their bodies. They battle this man and his rock mummies, and rescue Presley. Presley assumes they're the good guys, and brings them home. He asks his mom about the museum, and she tells them everything's being moved back to Egypt, including everyone's tombs that are only their source of replenishing their power. Presley and the other mummies steal a car, and chase after the truck carrying them. They encounter the stone mummies, and that other purple guy. Though he was defeated, and the four mummies decide to take their tombs somewhere safe.

Memories. Mummies Alive was one of my favourite action cartoons back in the day because it did a good job of incorporating Egyptian mythology with the modern world. What I really liked the most about Mummies Alive is the four mummies ignorance of how the modern world works. An example is when Presley told them they kick butt, and Rath took it in a literal sense. My favourite of the episode, also involving Rath, was when Armon asked what a cell phone was, and Rath, being the smartest in the group, tells them he wouldn't know. It did a pretty cool job of combining his ignorance along with his arrogance. What I mainly loved about Mummies Alive was its fights. All of the mummies have their own unique weapons and fighting style that makes them differently effective during combat, like Rath's sword, Nefertina's whip, Armon's raw strength, and Jackal's bow skills, along with his martial arts. This particular episode didn't really catch my attention, partly because it was meant to establish the characters and the basic story.moreless
