I've always been partial to this fairy tale, my favorite since childhood and a must have VHS after Disney opened the vault. This Muppet Baby version is just as clever as other parodies they've done of classic stories. When Piggy takes the blame for her friends, she imagines herself as Cinderella to make her punishment bearable.

In the nursery, all the Muppet Babies are groaning because lunch won't be served for another hour and they're hungry now. Skeeter decides to sneak snacks for everyone despite breaking an important house rule. She makes Scooter come with her on this "Impossible Mission" where Gonzo's nose will self destruct in two seconds after giving them the mission.

Piggy protests the violation, snatches the food out of everyone's hands and declares she's taking it all back to the kitchen. The refrigerator door proves too hard to open and Nanny, along with the kids, enter to find Piggy sitting in the middle of a big mess. Nanny scolds Piggy and refuses to listen when she tries to explain. Skeeter gleefully accepts Nanny's assignment for her and Scooter to supervise Piggy's punishment of cleaning up the entire kitchen without any help.

The stage is set. If Pigerella doesn't get all her chores done, she can't go to the ball being given by handsome Prince Kermit with her step-nanny and stepsisters. Scooter is very uncomfortable dressing in drag but there's just not enough girl Muppets to fill all the roles in this female dominated story.

Fozzie tries to help, but his super power vacuum certainly does suck and Gonzo's fairy god-weirdo wand needs a repair by Bunsen and Beaker who make a very brief cameo.

Dressed in a glitzy, retro-80's punk outfit with red sneakers or "tennies" and driven by Fozzie in a tomato hot rod car/coach, Pigerella makes her entrance at the ball.

Piggy and Skeeter fight for the attentions of Prince Kermit while singing, "Check me Out"

At the stroke of seven, (observing the early bedtime restriction) Pigerella's magical items begin changing back and she makes a hasty exit, leaving behind her red shoe for Prince Kermit to take to the last house on the road.

Animal eats the shoe. Piggy screams then realizes if she doesn't stop fantasizing and get back to work she'll be cleaning all day. The other kids decide they were wrong letting Piggy take the blame. They all pitch in and when Nanny enters, the twins confess their mistake and admit Piggy was the only one who didn't participate and tried to stop them. Nanny apologizes and Piggy frankly forgives her.

"Go bye, bye" End Tag: Establishing shot of a large cartoon ship on the ocean. Gonzo is standing on the deck with Animal perched above him. "Hello," Gonzo greets us, "when I'm out of the nursery, acting perfectly normal, people don't recognize me. That's why I carry the weirdo express card" Gonzo flashes his green card. "Don't leave your brains at home without it" Animal pulls a rope, the ship's horn blasts Gonzo out of the scene. "Go bye, bye!" Animal laughs and the ship exits, stage left.moreless
