Neil passes a lie detector test, revealing that he did not kill aynone and that he did not strangle Melissa during sex. The test also reveals that he was drunk both the night the tape was made and the night of the murder. This leads Teddy to wonder if Neil is telling the truthor just can't remember anything.
Hoffman meets up with Francesca's divorce attorney, who offers Teddy information about Cross; information which could get Neil cleared of the charges. The attorney is attempting to blackmail Cross into a quick and easy divorce. When Francesca finds out, she drops him and hires another attonry who was recommended by Teddy.
