  • More trouble in Cabot Cove...an affair, arson and murder.

    9.2
"Dead Letter" is a solid, meat-and-potatoes episode of "Murder, She Wrote." We have the local color of Cabot Cove as the backdrop for more dastardly deeds. One of the things I like about the show is how it makes Cabot Cove feel like a real town. There's the buzz over the rummage sale, the hullabaloo over the new fire engine and the gossip that comes with everyone knowing everybody else.

The case this time around is interesting. Was the arson set to cover up the murder? Or vice versa? Or neither? William Windom, Ron Masak and Angela Lansbury really gel so well together that these Cabot Cove scenes are always a highlight. Of course, there's also the fourth member of the bunch, Richard Paul as the Mayor, who really shines in this episode and relishes his role as a "fireman."moreless
