In this episode, which aired in February of 1990, Norma makes a reference to a company called Low Sonic as having an the inside track on HDTV, a comment which is somewhat ahead of its time. HDTV was originally introduced by a Japanese company NHK in 1970, but didn't begin broadcasting programming extensively for nearly a decade. HDTV didn't begin development in the US market until 1987, and it wasn't until 1993 that the FCC finally approved an all digital broadcast plan that included HDTV.
