It's obvious to former DI Hain that Carol Walsh is not going to give up on the search for whomever it was who was responsible for her mother's death and so, he agrees to give her assistance.
Against Hain's advice, Carol goes to work as a prostitute at the same place where her mother was formerly employed as she is looking for a man named Whittaker whom she remembers seeing taking photos on the day of the murder and who is a regular client at 'Cleo's'. Meanwhile, she also talks to a woman named Rachel who was her mother's friend and fellow prostitute who tells her blankly that it is an accepted fact that DI Hain killed her mother in a fit of jealous rage.
Naturally, Carol is very confused and demands answers from Hain. (Probably not a very clever thing to do if he did in fact kill her mother). Hain again protests his innocence and is proven to be telling the truth when a young man who had a paper round at the time of the murder tells an alarming story of abduction, pornography and corruption at the highest levels of the police force.
I think anyone who likes a story with a zillion twists in it will like this one. Have a look for yourself and see what you think.moreless
