      While doing the last show of the season, Murphy starts going into labor. The FYI gang and crew panics, and don't know what to do since they're in the middle of a live show, Miles asks Jim to take Murphy to the hospital, Corky to close the show, and Frank to get Eldin and anything else Murphy needs at her house. At the hospital, Murphy is still relaxed, she's starting to feel the first contractions and they're not as painful as she thought. She even asks Jim to play cards with her. Everything is under control, but not for long, the contractions are starting to get very painful. Murphy is screaming and Jim doesn't know what to do. A nurse shows up and after examining Murphy says that it's still too early and suggests that Murphy walks a little to relieve some of the pain. And that's what Murphy does, Miles is with her trying to calm her down, because Murphy is a 'little' cranky. Later on, Murphy is screaming even more, she's holding Frank and Miles through their neck cursing and blaming them for all her pain. The doctor arrives saying that Murphy is ready to give birth. Minutes later Murphy is feeling a lot of pain and is too tired to give birth. She doesn't want to try anymore she just wants to die. But then Eldin arrives and helps her. Hours later Murphy is asleep, while Eldin's at her side, calmly eating a chicken leg. Murphy awakes, and the FYI gang comes in, Phil is also there. Moments later a nurse brings the baby, everybody look at him sweetly and then decide to leave Murphy alone with her baby. Eldin is the last one to leave; he tells Murphy how proud he is of her. Murphy is touched. The nurse hands Murphy her baby, Murphy holds him still a little clumsy. She starts talking to her child, saying she won't be like the other mothers, but she'll try not to make too many mistakes. Frank comes in with a video camera, he asks Murphy to say something to the baby. Murphy sings "You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman" to her child with a sweet look on her face.       After Miles describes a, according to Frank's opinion, homoerotic dream of him and the new publicity guy, Rick 'frolicking', Miles panics. Frank says that's no big deal, and that he probably picked up from the fact that Rick was gay, Murphy does not think Rick is gay so they make a bet.

      When Rick shows up at the bullpen the gang start to question him about many things about his life, to see if he says anything more revealing about his sexuality. Rick notices that and confirms he is gay, embarrassing the whole gang.

      Miles is totally freaked out, so he goes to one shrink after another, they all agree that there's a possibility that he is really gay. Without knowing what to do, Miles asks for advice Frank, but it doesn't really help, then he goes to Murphy, which doesn't help very much either.

      Moments later Rick asks Miles to go to Phil's with him to show the new promos for the show, Miles reluctantly goes. At Phil's, Rick notices Miles is giving excuses to get away from their meeting. Miles explains about his dream to Rick, who thinks Miles can't say he might be gay only because of a dream. After discussing about it a little more, they both come to the conclusion that Miles is not gay after all.moreless

The gang is happy for her, but unsure what to do with themselves without Murphy as a part of FYI. Frank and Julia finally get together and arrange a date. Jim prepares to leave and Murphy returns to the office. She is ready to tell everyone that she's changed her mind, when they all mention what they have in the works for their careers. Murphy confesses her selfishness, but mentions that she doesn't want to leave. After a group hug, they all get together to reminisce on memories of the past. At the end of the day, Murphy returns to her townhouse. Ten years later, Eldin makes the same entrance back into her life. Seems Avery used his mother's Sprint card to track Eldin down. Eldin proposes marriage to Murphy, but instead she offers him the opportunity to give the place a touchup.moreless

Seeking comfort, Murphy reflects on the need to talk with Phil and no one is more surprised than she is when he returns from the dead. Seems he knew too much about Whitewater. She tells Frank to her office and shows him Socks, soon after that the whole gang see it, and even though Murphy claims she's inocent, no one believe her. Miles says she must take the cat back. Murphy is afraid to do so, she things if they see her with the cat she'll be banned again from the White House. The next day, Murphy meets Miles at Phil's, she tells him she still has the cat, she's worried because the cat won't eat anything, and if there's anything worse than being caught with the president's cat is being caught with the president's *dead* cat. Miles starts freaking out, so Murphy decides to take the cat back. When Murphy is about to leave Phil's, Joan Lundan shows up. Murphy has a plan. At Murphy's townhouse, Eldin is grieving Avery's passing and refuses to actually believe it. After he's gone, Murphy and her father decide to open the big trunk Avery left to Murphy containing a photo album, Murphy's indian blanket among other things. After arguing with her father over things from the past, Murphy finds a little box inside of the trunk, with one of Avery's hats, which Murphy tries on, also in that box there's a smaller one wrapped up as a present with a little baby hat that belonged to Murphy. Murphy cries over her mother's loss for the first time. Bill Brown consoles Murphy and says he wants to be a bigger part of Murphy's life and his grandchild's. They share a warm hug. Bill Brown concludes that Avery made her last visit after all.moreless

The next day, Miles apologizes to Murphy about the way he behaved at the restaurant. One night Miles, Murphy and Josh arrive at her house after dinner, Murphy and Josh want to be alone but Miles is always getting in the middle, so they politely ask him to leave. Miles shows up in the middle of the night just to tell Murphy that he does not like the idea of her dating his brother at all. Josh arrives after being looking for Miles for hours, they start arguing at Murphy's living room, but then make up and leave. After being ignored by the brothers Silverberg, Murphy decides that she does not need men, and maybe she should start her own country, with women only, because men are dispensable.moreless

Murphy doesn't think so. At the restaurant Murphy doesn't seem to want people to see her with Marty, which he notices. They have a honest talk, and Murphy starts to understand his point of view and they make plans to get together again. The next morning while driving to work, Murphy turns on the radio and instead of rude comments she hears undecent ones about her, Marty said she's not the queen of ice, not at all, actually she's "hot and nasty". Murphy is fuming, and drives to the radio station immediately. When she gets there, Marty calms her down and convinces her that she's only mad because the jokes are about her, so they agree that the target of the jokes will be Diane Saywer from now on. Murphy: Kay, Jerry Gold is not the man who got away. Kay: Really, because I would have guessed you two ended up in bed yesterday. Do you want to tell me or do you just want me to know it. And Murphy says nothing. AT the wedding Jerry and Murphy fight over why he's in town. Jerry think she dosen't want him to get married. They each blame each other. Jerry gets cold feet and admits he still cares for Murphy and does not want to lose what they have which will happen when he get's married. And that's a big commitment for him. They go to the first class and apparently Murphy and Eldin is not the only couple who doesn't know what they're doing. At the second class, one of the couples is absent, because they had their baby. The other two seem to be getting better, but Murphy is still clueless. The teacher shows them a video of a real birth. After watching it, the couples get scared, but none more than Murphy, who realized she made a big mistake when she didn't pay attention to the classes. But now is too late, the class is over; Murphy finally realizes she'll be a mother, but she still doesn't know what that is. She confesses to Eldin that she's really scared and asks him for his help. Eldin calms her fears saying that she really grew as a person since he first met her, and even though he paid a little more attention to those classes than Murphy, he's also clueless, but he still thinks that they're gonna be fine.moreless
