Mutant X

(ended 2004)

  • Season 3 Episode 10: Brother's Keeper

  • How come Leo also changes his clothing whenever he shape- shifts?

  • Season 3 Episode 9: No Exit

  • The (presumably) dead Nurse Helen has apparently laid in Dennett's room for hours - you'd think somebody on staff at the expensive private clinic would have noticed.

  • Why doesn't Jesse phase through the windows of the computer laboratory, where Dennett keeps taunting them through? Was Adam really so thorough that he put a disruptor field inside the clear transparent windows too?

  • Jesse can and in the past has certainly phased for more then the 5-10 seconds we see here when he tries to avoid the computer lab laser weaponry. He'd have a hard time getting through most walls before he resolidified if he couldn't phase much longer than shown here.

  • In the flashback, how the heck did Dennett get the drop on Shalimar to the point where he had her in a traditional hostage-taken pose with a gun to her head?

  • The image that Dennett sees on the infrared sensors looks nothing like infrared. In the "IR image" we see, heat sources aren't brighter than cool spots - rather, everything generally just has a golden tint of roughly equal strength.

  • The entire Sanctuary is covered with a disruptor field to stop Jesse from phasing through the walls? Not only is that kinda convenient, but given what's happened in the past when folks have taken control of Sanctuary, it would seem a good idea to leave Jesse at least one spot where he can phase out.

  • Season 3 Episode 7: The Hand of God

  • Mutant X would probably check for a pulse and all that stuff before just saying, "Oh, he's dead." In the episode before, they checked for pulse. They just didn't go, "Oh, he's dead, let's all just leave and cry and all that stuff you do when someone dies."

  • Although Jesse powers down the Helix, all of the lights continue to flash.

  • Season 3 Episode 6: Shadows of Darkness

  • Trivia: If you look closely when Lexa is at the computer in the hospital she types in Leo Pierce--the name of her brother who appears in "Brother's Keeper."

  • How did Johnny turn on all of the oxygen tanks if he projects images?

  • Since when do they have two Helix jets? Brennan and Lexa left for the hospital in one. Then Jesse and Shalimar left in another one to go to Sandy's apartment.

  • If Johnny's only a psion and not a teleporter, how'd he get from out in the hallway confronting Dr. Willette, then into the elevator with her after he backed her into the elevator and the doors closed? And how'd he escape at the end to get back down to the basement?

  • Season 3 Episode 5: The Taking of Crows

  • Brennan clearly states Lexa has no pulse but then Jesse revives her using only mouth to mouth recitation! Anyone who knows first aid knows that no pulse means no heartbeat and you start chest compressions, or have Brennan shock her heart into starting (as he does with Dr. Palance in the next episode).

  • Season 3 Episode 4: Where Evil Dwells

  • How did Andrea kill the killer in the prison and then walk out? The guard should have seen the whole thing in the security monitor.

  • Why can't these characters show basic common sense? Even after Lexa and Brennan are nearly killed walking into a trap, Shalimar goes into a deserted building without backup and without immediately notifying the others of her location.

  • Season 3 Episode 3: The Breed

  • The parasite shown on the computer screen by Jesse is not a plasmodium (malarial) parasite. It is in fact a trypanosoma (Trypanosoma cruzi, which causes Chagas' disease). Apparently the directors need to take a parasitology class before they go off using them in their shows.

  • At the end of the episode, why did Lexa confront the amoral Dr. Arrigo all alone, weaponless, and without confiding her suspicions to the rest of the team? Did she really think that a man capable of using human beings as lab animals and starting a deadly plague was going to just hang his head and go quietly off to jail?

  • What if the blood trail didn't lure ALL of the infected into the power room for their cure? If even one infected person was outside, taking down the force-field would have given that person a chance to escape and spread the plague to the outside world.

  • Even if the disease is only spread through bites and scratches, it still would have made sense for the team to wear some kind of protective body-covering gear. Instead, Brennan and Shalimar go in wearing cut-off t-shirts. They seemed determined to show as much bare skin as possible.
