  • Got to catch them all! "Pocket Clam" that is!

Even though this is only a seven minute short, it's an intelligently well-written one. Parodying one of the most successful things to hit the market in recent history, this short does a good job at capturing how so many can be captivated by something so simple sounding as catching every single kind of a certain item, such as the "Pocket Clam." And Henry Armadillo proves that he has a future as a professionial newscaster as he brings the students this vital information for their every day life! Yet with every fad, there's always a few (or in this case one) who doesn't get it, and in this case it's Adam Lyon. Even though the video game of "Pokemon" is a gimmick, it is one that has worked very well as there are many different varities of the creatures, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, moves, abilities, and even personalities! And even though the "Pocket Clam" itself doesn't have moves or abilities, it still manages to be popular with the animal set just the same, proving that the taste for fads is subject to a creature's own preference of taste and will vary widely by each individual. This is a fun short that I enjoyed watching, and I certainly hope it manages to end up on a D.V.D. for "My Gym Partner's a Monkey" someday. Enough said, true believers! ;)moreless

    • Pokemon: The appeal of Pocket Clam is to collect as many different varieties of clams that is possible to collect. This is very similar to the long running Nintendo video game/television series where the goal of the protagonist is to try to collect as many varieties of the powerful creatures that is possible to collect.
