  • Ella takes the kids, as JP, out of George and Janet's house, insisting that Ollie isn't developing as he should. Piers starts a Young Mothers' Group.

    8.5
Starting with George's purchase of "adult" video, to prove Ella and Stanley wrong about Ollie's development)to Arnie's leaving a six pack of beer and cigars with Ollie and George on the roof with Ollie( trying to sneak the little guy back into Ella and Stanley's house), The misunderstandings gallop through this episode.

A bit more serious feeling, with the actual removal of Cassie and Ollie, but it doesn't mock CPS or children's safety. We go with the humor because we know Cassie and Ollie are safe and are certain someone with a cooler head and a clever plan will save the day.

Piers' amazingly awful Young Mothers' Group is just long enough and delivers the laughs needed.

Mrs. Raven's disappointment about not having the triplets removed is in-character and very funny, as Mrs. Raven tries to use Ella's status as JP in training to get the triplets out of her house.

We also get to see one of the few times that Thermoman was no help in a situation- Ella just about wins the day, if not for the quick-thinking of.... well, you watch and find out!

    A very funny half-hour of a great comedy.moreless

    • Arnie: Don't you think it's time to cut the apron strings?
Janet: Cassie is six months old!
Arnie: Exactly! When I was her age, I was in my third flatshare! (sighs) There was only one bathroom between six of us, and that ain't easy when one of your roommates is a dog mutant with three asses!

    • (after Ollie and Cassie are taken)
Janet: George, what are we going to do?
George: Without the kids? We can do anything! We can fly to Lapland, and make love underneath the northern lights! Or we can just get a video out.

    • Ella: And don't think I'm going to stand by and let you raise my grandchildren like animals. I am almost a magistrate, and I can confiscate them if I want.
Janet: That's ridiculous! And against the law.
Ella: You forget Janet, I am the law.

    • (about Ella becoming a magistrate)
George: What do you make of it Stanley, Ella suddenly having all this power and authority?
Stanley: I don't think I'll notice much difference.
