In the last episode it's revealed that Princess Cadence is a traitor, but Twilight Sparkle is the only one who knows since no other pony believes her. The episode starts with Twilight being teleported into a crystal cavern where she is confronted by Princess Cadence. Cadence mocks Twilight that she'll never escape and she starts to destroy the crystals. In the process though Twilight finds Cadence, but she looks beaten up. Cadence tells Twilight that the one in the castle is a fake and proves it by her doing a special dance known only to her and Twilight. The two make their way through the cavern and back to the castle. Twilight and Cadence soon arrive at where the wedding and confront the fake Cadence. It's revealed that the fake Cadence is actually a Changling, a creature that takes the form of whatever a pony loves and has mystic powers. The Changling reveals herself to be a Queen to her followers and wants Canterlot to feed her other Changlings, who are destroying the barrier around Canterlot. Twilight tries to help her brother, but it's revealed that he's under a massive hypnotic spell. Princess Celestia tries to defeat the Changling Queen, but because she fed on Shining Armour's love for Cadence, it's discovered her power can overcome Celestia and defeats her. The barrier then breaks and the Changlings start to take over Canterlot. Celestia tells Twilight and the others to get the Elements of Harmony to defeat the Changling Queen. They all head out and confront Changlings that take on their own forms of the Mane 6. Twilight and the others fight and defeat them, but just when they get to the Elements, they are surrounded and taken prisoner. The Changling Queen mocks their failure that Twilight was the only one who knew about her intentions while the others ignored her for their wedding plans. The others start to apologize to Twilight for not believing her, but she tells them that she fooled them all. Twilight goes to the real Cadence and frees her so she can free Shining Armour from the mind spell. Shining Armour is freed, but is unable to use his magic to repel the Changlings. Cadence uses her love to help power Shining Armour up and it creates a barrier that sends all the Changlings out of Canterlot and into the distance. Princess Celestia tells Twilight to get a real wedding planned out and things go off without a hitch this time around. The episode ends with Spike saying he's ready to do the bachelor party and the others laugh. This was an absolutely brilliant way to end the season. Pinkie Pie was awesome with taking an action scene and making it funny and her using Twilight as a chain gun was great. Speaking of the action scenes, those were all brilliant and well done. I loved all the action it had in it and it was handled greatly. I loved the musical numbers we got in both parts and are memorable. This was the best way to end a season yet and I loved every bit of it. This was just perfect in every way and is a must see for all.

And in this case, MLP:FiM's is A Canterlot Wedding (Part I and II).

This episode continues where the previous one left off; Cadance is still a fraud, Shining Armor is still under her control, and Twilight is trapped underground with the REAL Cadance. Just when she is about to marry Twilight's brother, Twilight and Cadance interrupt, causing Queen Chrysalis to reveal her true form. She sends her changelings to break the barrier around Canterlot to take control of it.

I thought that it was really entertaining when our 6 main ponies faced off against the changelings, who took form of themselves. Now, I'm not much of a MLP:FiM fan (particularly because of how bad the fandom is), but I can confidently say that I got chills when Shining Armor and Cadance combined forces to overthrow Chrysalis. Princess Celestia really served ZERO purpose (all she did was get blasted and lay down) throughout this whole thing, but whatever. There were some cheesy jokes I didn't like either, but then again, MLP is chock-full of corny things, so why am I complaining?

Even if you don't like My Little Pony, you'll at least find this particular episode entertaining, like I did.

  • Not very well.

This season 2 finale was not what i really expected. It was like a movie than a season finale. This show is amazing but this really proves RD is acting gross, acting as if she was in a more different weird cartoon, like pixar, & it's totally disgusting. This has happened a lot. Season 3 hopefully will have a better finale. Even Season 1, which is not as good as Season had a better finale. This was too much. I expect better from this episode.

And so it all ends. But not a quiet farewell. Twilight and her friends must defeat clones of themselves this time around to save the Wedding. Here's something for Grimdark fans. But everything ends well, and the ponies are having the times of their lives. More parties, touching scenes and clones than you can ask for here. 10/10
  • Part 2 of the 2-Part Season 2 Finale was awesome and more epic than Part 1 as it does have a dark storyline, an awesome battle scene, and well done charactersmoreless

After discovering that her brother's bride to be isn't who she says she is, it's up Twilight and her friends to stop the bride's evil plans and save not only Canterlot, but all of Equestria as well. Part 2 of the 2-Parf Season 2 Finale of "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" was so awesome and it more fantastic than Part 1 maybe because of the action, how dark the writers made the storyline, and all of the characters were awesome here. Man, this show definitely proves that you don't need to be a little girl to watch this show because the storyline was very dark here and there was actually a battle scene was so epic and awesome to watch. The animation in this episode was also marvelous to look at. I knew Princess Celestia was gonna be okay though after that Changeling leader shot her... that was kinda predictable right there but the rest of the episode actually had surprises which impressed me big time. I also enjoyed the quick brief cameo appearance of the Cutie Mark Crusaders (Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo) being flower girls for the wedding. The battle scene was definitely something worth talking about, I just really loved where the writers were going with this whole thing and I definitely wasn't bored at all. I also must say that this is the darkest "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" episode that I have ever seen and I really LOVED it. It was even more dark than the 2-Part Season 2 Premiere "Return of Harmony". I also enjoyed hearing more musical numbers here just like Part 1. The villain song was definitely awesome. As far the humor goes, there pretty much wasn't humor here except for like two parts which I'm gonna mention right now. The two parts that did crack me up (they were both LOL moments) was the part of how Twilight and Cadence made the bridesmaids go away by throwing a bouquet AND Rarity near the end of the episode catching the bouquet and saying "Mine, all mine" and the other ponies look at her. The wedding scene itself was nice to see and I thought Shining Armor was an enjoyable character and Cadence (the real one) was enjoyable as well. I also loved the musical number at the very end of the episode. Overall, this was just a spectacular way to end Season 2... every moment of this episode really impressed me and it definitely wasn't boring at all and it's also got the be the darkest episode of the series ever which I really loved and the musical numbers plus the characters and the plot were top-notch, I can't wait for Season 3 to come but it's just too bad that we wave to wait til' Fall 2012 for that to happen which means no new episodes this summer but oh well I guess I'll just have to wait. 10/10moreless

    • Queen Chrysalis: (As Cadance, about Twilight) Why does she have to be so possessive of her brother? (Sees everyone looking at her and pretends to cry) Why does she have to ruin my special day?
Princess Cadance: Because it's not your special day. It's mine!

    • Princess Cadance: Twilight, it's me! Please, you have to believe me. I've been imprisoned like you. The Cadance who brought you down here was an imposter.
      Twilight Sparkle: Likely story!
Princess Cadance : Sunshine, sunshine, ladybugs awake. Clap your hooves....
Twilght Sparkle and Princess Cadance: And do a little shake.
      Twilight Sparkle: You remember me!
Princess Cadance: Of course I do. How could I forget the filly I loved to sit for the most?

    • Shining Armor: Twilight! None of this would have been possible without you, little sis. Love ya, Twily.
Twilight Sparkle: Love you too, B.B.B.F.F.

Shining Armor: I told her she wouldn't just be gaining a husband, she'd be getting a pretty great sister, too.

  • NOTES (4)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • The whole scene where the Changeling hypnotizes Shining Armour into loving her is a reference to the part in the Disney film, The Little Mermaid, where Ursula the sea witch disguises herself as a beautiful woman and hypnotizes Prince Eric into loving her instead of Ariel.
