Derpy cameo: She is seen fighting with the Mayor after the "Want it, need it" spell is broken.
Also, this episode is the first to feature the new season two title sequence in which Derpy can be seen through the top window of the train's first passenger car.
The music being played while Princess Celsestia confronts Twilight and her friends is similar to the score "The King's Speech," from the film of the same name.
When Twilight is talking to Princess Celestia about what happened, her mane is straight. But it is shown all messed up again when she said that she didn't want to be tardy.
Twilight seems to have gotten much better at teleporting. In previous episodes, teleporting only once seemed to exhaust her, but she teleports several times in this episode without showing any signs of fatigue.
The magic glow that comes from both Twilight's and Princess Celestia's horns are different colours in this episode. Twilight's glow is red, while in other episodes, it was purple, and Celestia's glow is yellow, while in other episodes, it was blue.
Running Joke: Rarity claiming that one simple problem is the "worst possible thing."
Twilight Sparkle: (after popping out of the Cutie Mark Crusaders' ball) Hi, girls!
Twilight: If I can't find a friendship problem, I'll MAKE a friendship problem!
Sweetie Belle: I really like her mane.
Pinkie Pie: We're never gonna see Twilight again!
Applejack: What are we gonna do, y'all?
Rarity: Of all the worst things that could happen, this is the.. worst... possible... thing!! (the others glare at her) What? I really mean it this time!
Fluttershy: Wow, I've never seen Twilight so upset before.
Rarity: Oh, what a drama queen! (clears throat) Relatively speaking...
Rarity: Please tell me I did not forget the plates! (gasps) I did! I totally forget them! Of all the worst things that could happen, this is the... worst... possible... thing! (magics over a chair, then collapses into it, sobbing) Why, why, why! (notices the others staring) What? You didn't expect me to lay on the grass, did you?
Twilight: (Sees Spike covered in frosting) Looks like we're going to have to add "give a baby dragon a bath" to our list. (Spike wraps his tongue around himself and licks up all of the frosting on him) Very efficient. And a little bit gross.
Friendship Report: Twilight and her friends learned that they should take a friend's worries seriously, even if you feel that it is not something to worry about.
This episode starts off with a new opening intro. It features a theme song very similar to the one that preceded it and the only difference in the animation is the background when Twilight gets out of her balloon. It now shows a train riding away.
This episode revolves around Twilight.
The scene where Twilight is talking to her reflection in the puddle is similar to the scene in Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, when Gollum does the exact same thing.
The part where Twilight's magic gets out of control and Princess Celestia has to make everything right is loosely based on The Sorcerer's Apprentice, a German poem about the assistant of a powerful wizard trying to do magic himself, but only causes trouble. This was also adapted into a short cartoon in the Disney film, Fantasia, starring Mickey Mouse as the assistant.
