  • One of summer 2013s highlights in movies,

    10
I been waiting since Winter 2012 for this movie where the first teasers had been mentioned. This movie had so many great highlights.
  • Fantastic, would love a spin-off series!

    8.0
I had some concern that I wouldn't like the movie but after the trailers, I was at least leaning towards liking it and after seeing the movie, it was worth seeing.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (6)

    • Originally, human Diamond Tiara and human Silver Spoon were suppose to be Sunset Shimmer's helpers. But for some unknown reason, human Snips and human Snails become Sunset Shimmer's helpers.

    • Near the end of the film, when human Rainbow Dash tells Twilight that she is "so awesome," she makes a scrunchy face. Her pony version did the exact same thing back in the episode "Applebuck Season."

    • The scene where human Twilight meets human Fluttershy is almost identical to when their pony versions met for the first time back in the pilot episode.

    • The wilhelm scream is heard when the demon version of Sunset Shimmer rips apart the entrance to the school.

    • The song that the human Cutie Mark Crusaders are listening to in the library is the one that their pony versions sung back in "The Show Stoppers."

    • Derpy Cameo: A human version of herself is seen in the school cafeteria. She is also seen dancing during the closing credits.

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Princess Celestia : Sunset Shimmer, is she all right?
Twilight: I think she's going to be fine. I left her in good hands.
      Rainbow Dash: What are hands?

    • Spike: That's my girls! Woo Hoo!
Boy: Did that dog just talk? Weird.
Spike: Really? A talking dog is the weird part in all this?

    • Trixie : (While standing in front of a vending machine) The Great and Powerful Trixie needs some peanut butter crackers.

  • NOTES (3)

    • This movie premiered at the 2013 Los Angles film festival on June 15, 2013; a day before it was released in theaters worldwide.

    • Trixie's one and only line in this film, "The Great and Powerful Trixie needs some peanut butter crackers," is an in-joke with Trixie's VA, Kathleen Barr, who said this line on Twitter while promoting the show and standing in line at a vending machine.

    • This is the first film made by DHX Media to get a theatrical release.

  • ALLUSIONS (4)

    • When Pinkie Pie uncurls from being a ball at the beginning of the film, the transformation sound effect from Transformers is heard.

    • The plot to this movie is a slight reference to the film Back to the Future.

    • In the scene where Sunset Shimmer is threatening Twilight, she says "and your little dog too" when looking at Spike. Is a reference to the same line said by the wicked witch from The Wizard of Oz when she threatens Dorothy.

    • The scene where Fluttershy is introducing all of the groups to Twilight in the cafeteria is a reference to a similar scene from the film Mean Girls.
