Danger: Greedy Ponies

Though this wasn't the worst episode in the series it's certainly one of the worst I've watched. The whole concept contradicts the authority of the Princesses and the morality of the ponies. The only excusable thing is that the Flim Flam brothers could be inbred, so there's a reason why they aren't as moral as they should be.

In my opinion, this was a better episode for Applejack than last week. The episode begins with Rainbow Dash grabbing Fluttershy so they can go get the annual apple cider from Sweet Apple Acres. However, the two pegasi are too late and there is a long line for it. When the cider runs out, all of Ponyville complains that the Apple Family always runs out of it. During the argument, a machine with two unicorn stallion comes near the stand. The two unicorns introduce themselves as The World Famous Flim Flam Brothers. They offer to help produce cider for Ponyville, but the Apple Family objects to this and tell them to scram. The next day, Applejack's family runs out of cider again, causing an uproar, but The Flim Flam Brothers return again and offer to make cider. Applebloom tells that her family can make more cider then the brothers' machine and they both get an idea. The brothers challenge the Apple Family to seeing who gets Sweet Apple Acres and who will be the cider providers. The contest is whoever makes the most barrels of cider in one hour wins. On the day of the competition, the Flim Flam Brothers begin to cream the Apple Family, despite their best efforts. Twilight Sparkle and her friends realize Applejack needs help and volunteer to be honorary family members, and the brothers don't object. With her friends' help, Applejack and her family are able to make more barrels of cider. The Flim Flam Brothers panic and begin to speed up their machine to win. At the end, the Flim Flam Brothers win and take charge. When Ponyville citizens take a sip of the cider though, they complain about how awful it tastes, causing the brothers to flee out of town. The Apple Family realize that they made enough barrels of cider for all of Ponyville and celebrate their victory with a party. Applejack says she learned nothing, but in reality she learned that it's not the quantity of the product, but the quality and love put into the product. Our episode ends with Applejack and her friends drinking cider together. This was one of the best episodes yet for Friendship is Magic, While the plot about man or in this case pony vs. machine is cliched, it's done in an excellent way. I loved the song done by the Flim Flam Brothers and how catchy it was. The brothers themselves are pretty cool and charismatic as well, and I would like to see them return. I also loved the bits with Pinkie Pie and Rainbow's attempt to get cider. All in all, a well done Applejack episode and an instant classic.

I love the show, but I didn't like this episode at all

This is my first review, and I apologize if I offended anyone here, but I didn't like this episode. I was really excited before I checked it out on Youtube, but I was greatly disappointed. First off, the beginning was great, which is why I spared the episode from Abysmal rating, but as soon as the Flim Flam Brothers showed up, it went downhill. The song was downright annoying and I actually had to mute it. Then, something that really angered me was Granny Smith enjoying their cider. If it was delicious cider, and they were responsible for making it faster, then shouldn't they get the good profits? But, I did enjoy that the brothers got their karma for being so cocky. There were some good moments, but to me, sorry to all MLP lovers, it just didn't stick.moreless

Worth the wait

Applejack and her family is the main attraction again in this episode.

The episode starts like Field of Dreams with Kevin Costner where a big crowd is waiting for an event.

But then the two greedy ponies Flim and Flam comes and starts a competition.

Poor Applejack and her family must save the farm as Flim and Flam is having a new kind of machine to make cider.

So now it's up to The Mane Six and the Apple family to save the farm like in a classic western.

It's another perfect 10 episode and just as good as The Last Roundup.

But still no song for Applejack and I thought she would sing along with the crowd and Flim and Flam.

Stay until the end as Applejack is having a surprise.moreless

Applejack, Applebloom, Big Macintosh, and Granny Smith compete against the traveling Flim Flam Brothers during Cider season

When it's cider season, Ponyville simply cannot get enough of the Apple Family's Cider. This year, the travelling Flim Flam Brothers capitalize on the shortage using their Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000. The town isn't quite big enough for both cider makers, so a competition is held to determine who can create the most cider the quickest, where the victor earns the sole cider distribution rights to Ponyville. I thought that this was a perfect episode of "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic". The storyline was so wonderful and there were a lot of funny parts. First of all, I just want to say that I loved the musical number sung by the traveling Flim Flam Brothers and Granny Smith.... it's absolutely one of the best musical numbers that I've ever heard from this show and it's very catchy. The musical number is still stuck in my head from watching the episode this morning. The funny parts were Rainbow Dash getting Fluttershy and flying fast in the beginning of the episode because of Pinkie Pie asking her questions or something like that, Rainbow Dash not getting her Cider, Rainbow Dash about to drink her Cider and Applejack hits the Cider off her, and more. I also loved seeing the competition between the Flim Flam Brothers and Applejack, Applebloom, Big Macintosh, and Granny Smith. That machine called "The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000" was awesome. I just loved every moment of this episode and it's just worth the watch. Only nit-pick was that the traveling Flim Flam Brothers were a little irritating. Overall, this was a perfect episode of "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic".... definitely worth the watch if you ask me. 10/10moreless
