I had a great time watching this and laughed a bunch. I loved the supporting cast and the plot was cute though flimsy and predictable.
When Barb was dropped off by David and the Porter, the Porter hears three heavies planning an attack on a Banana Republic Presidente. The Porter obviously wants to leap into action but David is not sure the hearsay is enough to stop the attack, and is of course ignored by the cops. David has to intervene to personally warn the Presidente of the attack. Thankfully, he is in a hotel where maids in ridiculous outfits appear perfectly normal. He is ousted, but does the Presidente understand?
Later, David gets caught by the thugs and tied up while the thugs decide to off the Presidente on their own, but the Porter intervenes. While the small heavy is stalking the Presidente with a sniper rifle, the large heavy is pinned to a wall by the Porter, and makes a splash in the process. On the way to rescue the Presidente, David (who is totally tied) is in the Porter and the limo driven by the heavies is spotted, but does the large heavy save the day?
I actually laughed a bunch in this episode, thanks to the lovely 1960's casting of Richard Kiel (Jaws from 007 Moonraker and others) and the little heavy (Monkees) and just had a blast. I wish all the Mother the Car would be this funny, and I'm happy I tuned in.moreless
