This has got to be one of the best episodes of my name is earl that i have ever seen. It starts off with earl telling about how he stole some fancy cutlery and now, can't find it to give it back to the museum/libary. Randy then takes over by saying that he sold the cutlery to a guy but never got the money. Joy then recounts her tale of how she switched spoons, melted them down and hid them in a dump. Crab man/darnell then says how he found the spoons and gave them back to the libary. Earl decides to make a donation to make up for losing the spoons, which is when he finds the spoons and can finally cross number 52 off his list. Then, to finish the show off, the librarian, dotty says about how she wishes she was hot. Lol!moreless

  • Damm right hilarious!!

Absolutely hilarious, the best yet. Especially the spoofing of the opening credits. I loved Joy's one especially even though Darnell's one was good as well: 'You may as well call me Crabman' haha!! Randy's spoof was good as well, what with him getting confused. And at the end with the librarian's intro: You know the kinda girl that could have been...'. I think this episode reminds me of the Simpsons episode, 'Trilogy of Error' because of the different points of view for one day. The spoof parts saved this episode because the actual plot with the silverware was not the best (still enjoyed it though) but it worked!moreless

I was cracking up through this whole episode. It was so clever how they did that and completely different from other episodes and now to to mention absolutely hilarious! I mean the narration from teach character Dottyu's and crabman's were the best 9even though Dottu's didn't even really begin) I swear I thought they were going to tell her story it would have been cool if they did I'd like to know what she had to say. Oh well I still really, really loved this episode I liked how each story connected to the other like a cop show it all ended up coming together and as it was starting to make semnse I was like 'Oh so thar;'s how that happened..' Yay my rambling got me past 100 words!moreless

  • A character-driven plot with different narrations

As a fan of the His and Her Storys of Scrubs I was very happy to see that My Name is Earl had adapted that style to the My Name Is Blank episode with Randy and when they leapt to Joy, I was a little dubious but it was great in developing the mystery and it was very funny to hear the introductions to each character, particularly Darnell, aswell as showing Randy's slow mind in the bar and the spot where Crabman had his first date and conception with Joy.

Overall, the whole episode is hilarious and it was a great twist of format on the show. This is definitely one of the best episodes in the series.moreless

this episode rocked, i loved the "inner thoughts" of the main characters!, man i could watch the "my name is randy" show all day long! that character rocks my world, he is side splittingly funny... the plot on the other hand was a little thin, but very funny, like the bad running joke... i liked how crabman is becomming a core character and the mystery behind his past also makes for very good entertainment. im not sure that the librian needed her own "my name is" segment... but regardless, camden is styling up to be a very intresting town, with lots of fleshy characters. i dont ever want this series to end!moreless

    • During Dotty's interview with the reporter (about three minutes into the episode), she mentions that the peacock's name is Zucker. Jeff Zucker is the current president of NBC, the network on which the show airs. Also, behind her is a list of the "founders" of Camden County Municipal Library. Instead of using made-up names, the names of the creative staff are employed, including Greg Garcia, Mark Buckland and Victor Fresco. Edit
    • When Joy tells Randy to warn them if somebody is coming by whistling because he can't snap, he seems to be unable to do that either. However, he accidentally succeeds later on, when he is digging up the buried treasure alone at night. Edit
    • Earl mentions that he, Randy, and Joy went out stealing because they didn't play Scrabble on account of not being able to spell. He later misspells ransom as "Ransome" on the note he delivers to Dotty. Edit

    • Randy: You know the kind of guy who likes hanging out with his brother, watching cartoons and also likes to touch things with his tongue. Well, that's me. I'm also the kind of guy who likes hanging out with his brother and watching cartoons...oh wait, I already said that. I also hold the Camden County record for staring at the sun...my name is Randy. Edit
    • Crabman: You know the kind of guy who graduated college at 14, is a virtuoso cellist, and can identify 254 varieties of cheese in a blind taste test, but can't reveal any of that because he's in the witness protection program? Well, that's me. Don't tell anyone I told you this. My name is...well, you just better call me Crabman. Edit
    • Joy: You know the kind of woman who could've been the next Faith Hill, but somewhere along the way discovered peach daiquiri, put a diaphragm in on her own, and wound up smack dab in the middle of trailer hell raising two kids? Yep, she still manages to look hot and you can bounce a quarter off her butt cause you gotta take of yourself. I mean, come on. Anyway, that's me. My name is Joy. Edit

    • Burning bush Earl believes that karma communicated its displeasure with him via a burning bush. In the Bible, God speaks to Moses out of a burning bush. Edit
    • Earl mentions that at the library, he learned that the official bird of Camden County is the peacock. This is possibly a reference to NBC (Earl's network), who began using a peacock logo in 1956 to demonstrate their use of color TV broadcasting. With the exception of 1976-1979, some variation of the peacock has remained their logo ever since. Edit
    • Randy: I couldn't wait to tell Earl how I met a man who sounded like Count Chocula and looked like Franken Berry. Count Chocula and Franken Berry were the first two cartoon mascots of General Mill's line of monster-themed breakfast cereals that would also include the less successful Boo Berry, Fruit Brute, and Yummy Mummy. Both Count Chocula and Franken Berry were created in 1971, and both cereals are still sold today. Count Chocula is a vampire with a thick Eastern European accent who craved chocolate instead of blood. Franken Berry is a variation of Frankenstein's monster. Edit
