Earl works on a list item that has to do with Chaz Dalton, his childhood hero. However, Chaz turns out to be somebody else. Meanwhile, Darnell tries to help Joy make friends using the Internet.

This episode of "My Name is Earl" is a tough one to review. First off, just to get this out of the way, the main Earl-centric plot was unmotivated, boring, and entirely lacking in any kind of punch. The end tie-in between the main plot and the subplot was quite a reach, and the subplot was rather inane. Inanity can be often be a comedic element, but the writers completely failed to take advantage of it.

The episode's saving grace, which really made it work watching, was that it was quite funny. There were many times in this episode where I actually laughed out loud. Unfortunately, since this is "My Name is Earl", that's just not enough.moreless
