Earl: The next two years were going to be hard, but now I knew I couldn't survive them by doing the same thing Glenn had; let prison turn me into someone I didn't recognize. I realized no matter how scared I get, if I'm going to survive in prison, I have to do it as myself. Cause my name isn't inmate number 28301-016, my name is Earl.
Earl: And the thing I thought would be the hardest, turned out to be the easiest.
(Earl stands up in the prison's mess hall)
Earl: Excuse me. For those of you who don't know me yet, I'm helping a guy get some badges. Does anybody here happen to be a scout master?
(Numerous prisoners raise their hands)
Randy: (To Joy) Is this because I peed on the kids? It was the middle of the night, I took a wrong turn.
Randy: Joy, why would BJ name his monkey "Bear"?
Joy: Because BJ was a huge Alabama fan and he named him after the legendary coach Bear Bryant. You happy?
Earl: How about I do something to make us even? Like uhh...I hear you like candy bars. I got some people on the outside who can track down some Zagnuts.
Glenn: Make me a shiv.
Earl: A shiv like a knife?
Glenn: Or like an icepick or an axe or a cheese grater. Surprise me.
Earl: Glenn was arrested for breaking and entering, burglary and vandalism. And when the police dog broke his tooth on his chin bone, he was charged with assaulting an officer.
Earl: Glenn, first I'd like to say that I'm impressed with the creative ways you thought of killing me. The one with my heart as a cue ball and apes playing pool? Scary.
