Having seen Earl's face plastered all over my computer screen for the last few months, courtesy of tv.com, and plastered all over my local billboards in the last few weeks, I was apprehensive at best to what this show would be like. Surely yet another stereotypical 'dumb' humour of the type my younger brother enjoys? Having seen the pilot now, I am genuinely surprised and optimistic about the series.
I felt that the humour was often very gentle, a little subtle in places, but nicely-placed all together. The show wasn't perfect, of course not, but it was certainly enjoyable and a pleasant friday night viewing.
So really, I'm looking forward to episode no. 2 to see if the so far high standards are maintained.
