Introduced and crossed off in this episode
#91 Made fun of Maggie Lester.
In the very beginning of the episode Earl says, "You know when those ... people all chip in when it's time to build a barn?"
The word "Amish" was censored during the original broadcast in light of the Amish school shooting that occured a short time before the episode aired.
"Nothing From Nothing" by Billy Preston
"If You Want To Sing Out, Sing Out" by Cat Stevens
We see Earl on a skateboard in this episode. Prior to being an actor, Jason Lee was famous in the skateboarding circuit.
(looking through phone books)
Earl: There's a lot of Lester's here, but I don't see any Maggies.
Randy: (points) There's a Maggie!
Earl: That's a Maggie Larson, Randy.
Randy: Oh! Both names have to be on the same line…
Darnell: Baby, I love that spray on, styling stuff. It makes your legs look hot and it makes me a little hot.
Joy: And that's exactly how I want the Public Defender to feel when I meet him today. I want him to think if he gets me off… I'll return the favor.
Randy: Look at his hands Earl! They're like lobsters! But without the rubber bands to stop him from biting us with his hands!
Earl: This burger's delicious.
William: Thank you. It's black angus.
Randy: I don't think I can eat it, now that I know the cows name.
(staring at the horn in Kevin's forehead)
Randy: That's pretty cool. Can you take your head on a plane?
Kevin: Not since 9/11. We're all making sacrifices.
Randy: I'm confused. You own twenty thousand dollars worth of Kripsy Kremes, but you still have to pay for donuts?
Paul: I don't get donuts, I get dividends.
Earl: Mmm, dividends… are they like those little powdered munchkins?
Joy: Can you please tell her that I'm gonna need another lawyer? It's nothing personal, it's just I don't wanna be represented by somebody whose ears are only good for holding up glasses. Don't tell her that last part though.
Doug: Yeah, she can read lips.
Joy: Right, now tell me if you can see my thong when I bend over.
Darnell: (looks) What thong?
Joy: Perfect. Lets go. And here, put these socks down your pants just in case he's gay.
Randy: If you make friends with anybody, make friends with the tall guy. I know where there's a Frisbee stuck in a tree.
The Czech episode title is "Kabinet zrůd", meaning "Teacher's Lounge of Freaks".
Original International Air Dates:
Czech Republic: October 21, 2009 on Prima COOL
Guest Judy Greer can also be seen with Jason Lee in the 1998 film Kissing a Fool. She played the cousin of Lee's love interest.
Earl's Narration: Unfortunately for Maggie, Tom Selleck was the biggest star on TV and I was the biggest jerk in my class.
Earl: Wow, look at the mustache on this girl! Hey look everybody, it's Maggie P.I.!
Earl: (about William) Check it out… he's off to see the wizard!
This is a reference to the 1939 movie "The Wizard of Oz", based on the books by L. Frank Baum, as William is the same height as a Munchkin (a group of people from the story). Earl also indirectly refers to William as a Munchkin later on in the episode.
Catalina's childhood nickname "Chupa-Chup" refers to a popular brand of lollipops that originated in Spain in the late 1950's.
Earl: (in voiceover) And Tommy taught me how to ride a skateboard without falling off and scraping my knees.
This is a joke given that Jason Lee used to be a champion skateboarder in his younger days.
