      • Although subtle references in the next season are made regarding the original oldest brother Mike as played by Tim Considine, we are logically conditioned to know that he will not be seen again let alone referred to by name. One wonders how Fred MacMurray and his co-stars reckoned with this transition.
Did they approve, or were they just following what the writers wrote under orders from the show's producers?
Once Considine left the show for good in 1965, he had no interest in making more appearances as the character, and in all honesty probably never expected the show would run for another seven years after he left.

      • It's a little unnerving listening to Steve's response to Eileen's question after looking at the photograph ('Is that all the family?') and hearing his answer. Steve Douglas doesn't even mention his original eldest son Mike, and seems to have disowned him!

      • There is a pointed moment where the new updated photo of the current cast of "My Three Sons" (now including Tina Cole as Katie) is seen on a bench near Steve's office desk.

      • Trivia: Chip needs $11.00 ($5.50ea) to take his girlfriend Trudy to see a Chicago based band 'The Esteemed Onions'. Early in the episode he wears a brown sweatshirt (belonging to his girlfriend's older brother) monogrammed with the initials U.S.C. standing for the University of Southern California.

      • Baxter's character name is mis-spelled "Eilleen" with two L's during the closing credits!

      • Academy Award winning actress Anne Baxter took a four year hiatus from acting when she 'retired' and in 1961 Baxter and second husband Randolph Galt (her first was actor John Hodiak) left Hollywood to live on a cattle station in the Australian Outback (180 miles from Sydney; she chronicled the arduous experience in a well-received book, 1976's "Intermission: A True Story.") The original CBS press release that came with the publicity material for this episode says in part that Miss Baxter, was convinced that 'television is the greatest entertainment smorgasbord in the world' and that she was back in California, to see what new offerings were on her favourite smorgasbord. She died of stroke caused by a brain aneurysm, aged 62, in 1985.
