    • TRIVIA (1)

      • This is an early television appearance by film star Zsa Zsa Gabor, who also was seen in an episode of 'Gilligan's Island' not too long before this episode of 'My Three Sons' was produced. Zsa Zsa's sister Eva Gabor would have been simultaneously appearing in 'Green Acres,' also on CBS at the time. Zsa Zsa gives a rather subtle performance here, not at all upstaging Fred MacMurray or the rest of the cast with her flamboyant personality. This was about twenty years before her famous cop-slapping incident in Beverly Hills in the late 80s which led to more spoofing of herself in other episodic television appearances.

    • NOTES (5)

      • Production Manager John Stephens recalls that Ms. Gabor was a stickler for details and wanted certain things to be made available for her in her personal trailer. At the end of shooting, she kept the entire supplied make up products and tried to lodge a claim for a ring that she claims was stolen. Insisting on being reimbursed its insured value of $10,000 she finally accepted $1,500 from the Fedderson company.
When she was later hired to guest star on Fedderson's other series "Family Affair", Stephens infuriated the star when he provided around the clock security so that nothing would be stolen this time!

      • Scenes at the movie studio are filmed on location at the CBS Studio Center at Studio City, California. "My Three Sons" itself also films at this facility.

      • Miss Gabor's personal house maid is named Michelle on the closing credits, but the actress herself calls her 'Maple'.

      • Uncle Charley notes that Ernie's bike was found near Sunset Boulevard. This is quite a long way from North Hollywood where the Douglas home is situated. North Hollywood, I am told, by the way, also comprises what is also commonly better known as Studio City.

      • William R. Kelsay's original draft of this teleplay was titled 'Ernie and the Movie Star'.
