Finally "My Three Sons" is being released on DVD by CBS Paramount! Unfortunately they are only releasing what appears to be half of the first season. Hopefully if it sells well enough the rest and following seasons will also come.

Go here to read all the details...

That's great news, Geoff. It's about time, too. I don't really care for these half season releases, though. Hopefully, if it sells, future releases will be full season.

P.S. Maybe it's just my computer, but I can't get the link to work.

    Hi Geoff.

Thanks, I found it. It'll be interesting to see what, if any, special features it has. I talked about that in another thread.

&%$#@! Not what I needed to hear. I should have known it was too good to be true. I'll contact Paramount Home Entertainment if I can find contact information. Not that I expect a response, but at least they'll know I want it released ASAP. I encourage anyone reading this post (both of you ) to contact them, and spread the word.

Nuts!!!! I was so hoping the DVDs would be released. Wish MTS would be shown someplace where I could watch it again. TV Land is too busy showing "reality" junk to show good, high quality shows anymore. Hopefully,I can find my old MTS tapes and watch them again. Glad I found this board. I am happy knowing I am not the only MTS fan around. I love the oldies,Lucy,Beaver,MTS,Gilligan,Bewitched,Family Affair,The Waltons, etc. Thank God for Google.

Well, it looks like it may be back on the schedule again, according to a new post at tvshowsondvd:

    http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Sons-Season-1-Volume-1/9802

Sort of expensive though, 42.99 retail for half a season, but I guess it's better than nothing

Hopefully they aren't yanking our chain again.

Well, I guess that's good news, but at $42.99 for half a season, it better have some out of this world special features. One thing I would like to see is a release of selected episodes, like was done with Here's Lucy, but divided into two parts, the B&W, and the color episodes.

There's an updated news item at tvshowsondvd, here's the link:

    http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Sons-Season-1-Volume-1/9905

It doesn't show any extras on the front artwork. I don't think they've posted a pic of the rear yet.

This may be slightly off topic, but, for what it's worth, Season 1, Volume 1 of Route 66 has special features that include a Chevrolet commercial featuring Bub, Mike, Robbie and Chip.

I just saw the DVD of MTS season 1, pt 1. I might actually consider buying it. I remember when Nick at Nite used to show the old B&W episodes(which is the only place Ive ever seen them!) and I thought they were very funny. A lot of the humor came from Chip who was really little at the beginning of the series. And it was great seeing William Frawley as Bub. Nothing against William Demarest, but no one could play cranky yet kind the way Bill Frawley did. And I liked Tim Considine as Mike. When Frawley died, I think thats when the sharks began to circle. Then Considine left, the show went to color and Chip became a teenager. Im sorry, Ernie could be annoying rather than cute. It wasnt a bad show, but it wasnt as good as it had been.

Did anyone get the DVD? Just curious if it has the original theme song. I looked at it at Best Buy the other day and it said some music had been replaced on the back.
