FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • With this episode, many new supporting characters are added as Steve's new office staff. Although the writers chose to pair Steve up with Barbara at the beginning of the tenth season, it is possible that they were thinking of introducing his next wife in this setting...especially, since he gets an attractive and jealous new secretary (played by Abby Dalton).

    • Guest Marvin Kaplan would later play Henry, the phone repairman on CBS' sitcom 'Alice.'

    • Guest star Abby Dalton was regularly featured in the television series 'Hennesey' and 'The Joey Bishop Show.' She would later appear in 'Falcon Crest' on CBS in the early-to-mid 1980s.

  • NOTES (4)

    • This is the first time we've seen Charley's girlfriend Sally (who works at the local diner) since 'Green-eyed Robbie' earlier in the season.

    • As noted when Steve is dictating a letter to a business associate about his family, he says that Ernie is wearing braces on his teeth and hates every moment of it. Similarly his alter-ego, actor Barry Livingtson, also wore braces in real life, which are easy to spot during this season.

    • I have been reliably informed that the standard shot of Steve's workplace, which will be used many more times in upcoming episodes during the next four seasons, is actually footage of the main Lockheed air terminal at Burbank Airport in the outer Los Angeles area. However, it seems to be far away from the Douglas family's North Hollywood house location which is supposedly in the valley even though Burbank is adjacent to North Hollywood itself. Astute viewers will also recall that this stock footage was also employed the previous season when showcasing Steve's workplace at Bryant Park. The Airport was officially opened in 1930 and was later operated by the Lockheed Corporation. Today, the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority is a vital part of the Southern California airport system, serving nearly five million passengers each year.
