      • I asked Barry's older brother Stanley if in fact there was a reason Ricky Allen (as Sudsy) couldn't do the show anymore and if the writers initially wrote Ernie's character to fill that void? He replied by stating that "I think they just wanted to use Barry, so they phased out Ricky Allen. Barry was also a gifted child actor."

      • The music for this episode was scored by Jeff Alexander.

      • Although he was around constantly as a guest star for two seasons, actor Barry Livingston states that he was simply too little at the tender age of ten to remember very much at all of co-star William Frawley. "I didn't have much contact with him, and my recollections of Bill were sitting on the sidelines at lunch break with my brother Stanley".

      • Another milestone episode introducing series star Stanley Livingston's real-life brother Barry, as Ernie Thompson who will eventually become a member of the family in the sixth season. For this reason alone, I have purposely not listed Barry Livingston as a guest star for the next two seasons, even though he is listed that way on the credits. His importance to the history of the series' main cast means there is no reason to do that.
