  • Another classic episode, leaving one of the main characters with a broken heart.

Like "London Memories" from the previous season, this episode involves a character, this time Robbie, planning marriage to lovely lady, a French exchange student. But unlike Steve in LM, Robbie never gets to the asking stage. As he is about to propose, something he evidently had been preparing for some time, she drops a bombshell of her own: Robbie's best friend has already proposed to her, and she accepted. The wedding takes place at the Douglas home, despite Robbie's objections. He is embittered, but comes to accept it after revealing his initial plans to the bride just before the ceremony. This episode, too, can be therapy for those who have been disappointed in love. One drawback was the ending. Instead of confronting the girl over his feelings, it would have been more satisfying to see Robbie accept the situation with quiet dignity. The sadness of seeing his incredible disappointment, however, makes it well worth your while.moreless

    • James Sheldon is credited for co-directing the remaining few episodes of this season, as staff Director Jim Kern had passed away in November, 1966, at the age of 57. As the series shot many scenes of different episodes at a time, Sheldon was brought in to finish off scenes that had already been partly completed at some stage by Kern.
