      • While a guest on the 11/10/89 episode of Late Night with David Letterman, Ed Begley Jr mentions his guest appearance on this episode of My Three Sons. It was one of his first roles, and he was so proud of his work that at the end of the shooting day he refused to remove his camera make-up and delivered papers on his paper route hoping someone would notice.

      • A secondary subplot of this episode has Ernie attending dog obedience classes with Tramp where he forms a friendship with a dog-less little boy.

      • During the period 1962 to 1969, Buck Young appeared on "My Three Sons" five times. However for this episode (and this is the only time it happens), he is listed on the end credits as L.E. Young.

      • Jim Goodwin is perhaps best remembered as Lt. Farrell, during the first 1966 season of the "Star Trek" series. And Paul O'Keefe is best remembered for his role as Ross Lane on "The Patty Duke Show" (1963).

      • Ed Begley, Jr. is best known for his portrayal of Dr. Victor Ehrlich on the television series "St. Elsewhere", for which he received an Emmy nomination during each viewing season. But in checking his vast credits, I do believe this episode was his first time before the cameras.
The son of the late Academy Award winning actor Ed Begley, who guested twice on the series, he is involved in enviromental affairs, and was named head of the Environmental Affairs Commission in 1993, and the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy in 1994.
