The music for this episode was scored by Frank DeVol.
Guest star Dallas McKennon, the father of eight children, began his career in the 1950s and became a well known voice artist for popular children's cartoons, series and movies.
Steve Douglas is seen fly-fishing in scenes filmed on location with his guest stars. Not surprisingly Fred MacMurray was an expert fly cast fisherman, and it was from all reports, one of the actor's favourite pastimes.
Ed Begley would very shortly win the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his role of the politician in Tennessee Williams' "The Sweet Bird of Youth" (1962), starring Paul Newman. His appearance in this episode is listed as Special Guest Star.
The immortal Irene Ryan (1902-73) would soon start playing the role that she is best remembered for, that of Granny Moses in the hit series "The Beverly Hillbillies" (1962-71). After almost ten years in the role, she headed back to Broadway with a Tony-nominated performance in "Pippin." In April 1973, Ryan suffered a stroke and died soon after at the age of 70. Her officially listed cause of death is a brain tumour. Although she is gone, the Irene Ryan Trust fund lives on, donating scholarships to promising young theater arts students.
