The exterior scenes for Robbie's college were shot at the University of Southern California-- particularly, in front of the school's well-known central building, the Doheny Library. USC was also used in season 8 for other episodes that showed Robbie attending college, even though the Douglases had moved across the country and Robbie would probably be going to a different school.

If you look carefully at the model home Robbie shows the couple toward the end of the episode, it looks very much like the set we will see for the Douglases' new home in California at the beginning of season 8. Ironically, earlier in the episode, when Steve visits Robbie's office, he asks his father if he's looking for a new home.

According to the Don Fedderson script archives at UCLA, in production order, it appears that this episode was the very last one filmed at Desilu Studios in Hollywood. See the end notes of Episode 248 for further notes about the show's move to another studio facility.

This episode marked the eighth and final contribution of Danny Simon to the show's writing staff.

Betty Lynn would eventually play various secretary roles on "My Three Sons" in particular the secretary of Fred MacMurray, with whom she co-starred in the 1949 comedy "Father Was A Fullback". She played his daughter.
Also of note, the film introduced character actor Jim Backus (of "Gilligan's Island" fame), credited as James G. Backus.
