      • Fred MacMurray was quoted in a March, 1966 interview commenting on his star-friendly filming schedule. He noted that as the years went by he did feel rather selfish about only working three months of the year on the series while the remaining cast members filmed constantly, and he offered to spread his workload around. I spoke via email to Dawn Lyn who would play MacMurray's adopted daughter Dodie from the tenth season and she confirmed that "Fred was only on the set for half of the season, and things were more relaxed when he was not there. Actually Fred was quiet, he kept to himself a lot" she said. Certainly by this time he had appeared exclusively in Walt Disney Productions (he was a personal friend of Disney) which petered out more than half way through the series' run, which would have allowed him the extra time to commit to the show. By the end of the series in 1971 Fred was a multi-millionaire thanks to his co-owning a 50% stake in the series, and was highly regarded by cast and crew as one of the top television stars.

      • We learn from this episode that Chip's full name is "Richard O'Casey Douglas" although why his grandfather's surname would be his middle name is a mystery.

      • Tim Graham is best remembered for his role of the neighbour farmer Homer Ede in the "National Velvet" series (1961-62).

      • Jimmy Mathers is the younger brother of "Leave It To Beaver" star Jerry Mathers.
