      • Mike tells his brothers that the note their grandfather has left in the kitchen indicates he has gone out to look for work again. This is a quick reference to Episode #55 "Bub Gets A Job" from the previous season.

      • Fred MacMurray was actually very at home in the kitchen. He would take gourmet classes to hone his skills, and real-life wife June Haver said one of the first things she had to adjust to in married life was his role in the kitchen. She was reported to remember that he was a born cook; instinctive but messy. In comparison and as luck would have it, co-star William Frawley (Bub) was always serving up some fabulous family meal, but in real life couldn't cook a meal to save himself.

      • This is the last episode to feature juvenile Guest star Debbie Megowan as Chip's girlfriend. She will be mentioned (with the use of a flashback from the premiere episode of the series) in the Season 11 Episode, "The Honeymoon" (See Episode #340).

      • Jim Platten as the Photographer and Albert Turner & Mervyn Warner as the P.T.A. Cook-off Judges all appear in this episode uncredited.
