    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • Jay's Brazilian dishes featured in this episode were: "Bobó de Camarão", "Canja" and "Feijoada", which usually wouldn't go together, being all "wet" foods (unless you're in for a gastrointestinal disorder). The first one is fresh shrimp in a purée of dried shrimp, the second one is a chicken soup, and the last one is a black bean stew with a wide variety of pork.

      • Joe Vassallo plays a Brazilian, when he's actually from Malta. Also, his character doesn't talk with a Brazilian accent (at all), and his dance moves suggest more of the Spanish and other cultures, not the Brazilian samba.

      • Jay and Michael are shown speaking Spanish to each other, when in fact the official Brazilian language is Portuguese (only). This probably throws TV shows off due to being the only country in South America that doesn't speak Spanish.

    • QUOTES (1)

      • (Jay has accused Michael of being a little too interested in the female Samba teacher)
Michael: I was not drooling; my tongue was sweating!

    • NOTES (1)

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • While refusing Michael's assumption of her Brazilian fever, Jay mentions "Telemundo" an American television network based in Hialeah, Florida. Founded in Puerto Rico in 1954, it is now the second-largest Spanish language network in the US, behind Univisión. It has no connections to Brazil, or to the Brazilian culture.
