  • A classic episode of the series

This classic episode, told almost entirely in flashback, does a marvelous job of dramatizing one of James Thurber's great cartoon series, which is also called "The War between Men and Women." John Monroe and three of his co-workers take a stand against their wives in a battle begun when one of the wives won't let her husband finish a story at a cocktail party. Loosely following the original cartoons, the story takes them all through a confrontation in the grocery store, planning sessions in a bar and at home, and finally a stand-off where the "war is finally resolved. The episode is funny and insightful about how couples relate to one another, and exemplifies the subtlety that was the hallmark of this great series.moreless
