The Bible. The Good Book. For over two thousand five hundred years, it has continued as the most influential manuscript in human civilization. With 200 different translations and countless millions of copies, this book has inspired, divided and baffled the mind of man. Yet we know so little about it. When was it written? Who wrote it? Are we reading it today in its original form? Does it describe real events, or legends? In our first act, we will frame the entire program through a series of facts and questions, and orient the viewer towards the land where the Bible began, the Holy Land, ending near the Red Sea, where many of the greatest questions surrounding the Bible began to find their answeres. For in 1946, in a cave overlooking the Wadi Qumran, the Dead Sea Scrolss were discovered.ACT TWO: The Lost Ark of fiction may have been a very real Ark of history. The repository of the Ten Commandments handed down by God to Moses, this ches was allegedly placed in the Temple of Jerusalem by Solomon, where it stayed for hundreds of years. When the Temple was destroyed in 567 BC and the Twelve Tribes of Israel scattered to the winds, what happened to the Ark? In this act, we will meet the real Indiana Jones, Texas treasure hunter Vendy Jones who has dedicated his life to finding the Ark--and today feels that he is very close. Did this Ark really exist?
