Declan: Peggy, what's wrong? Peggy: I was just thinking about my brother. Did I tell you he got a full scholarship to a prestigious school in France? He had a promising career ahead of him. Declan: What happened? Peggy: He started hearing voices. Before he left he was outgoing, vivacious, gorgeous, my little brother; and then when he came back he wouldn't talk to anyone, he just sat in the corner, completely withdrawn, listening to voices that none of us could hear. Took a year of treatment to get him back; it was hard. Declan: Is he better now? Peggy: Yeah, but I think the experience with my brother has clouded my judgement.
Declan: Hey. Peggy: Hey. (Declan hands flowers to Peggy) Declan: I'm sorry. Peggy: You stepped way over the line this time. Declan: I know, but I always step over the line, and I'm sorry.
Breanna: (referring to Peggy) So you must be one of her patients, huh? Declan: Oh no, I'm a friend of hers. I teach at the university. Breanna: About rocks? Declan: Kinda. Anthropology. I just check out this kinda stuff. Breanna: What stuff? Declan: Weird stuff. Breanna: Why? Declan: Why not?
