I love this show! I love all doctor related shows. Some of the episodes scare me, though, because it's creepy when a doctor can't tell what's wrong.

I love this show I love any medical or psychology related show. I really don't have a favorite show but I think that may be because they seem to do the same cases multiple times Ex: Cushings syndrome and lyme disease. I love trying to beat the doctors to the weird diagnosis.

This show is awesome. I have no desire to be a doctor (... well maybe) but i still love watching them tell the story of how they diagnosed the patient. It's like a real life (in dramatization) version of house. With more medicine, and less relationship stuff.

There was a girl that stopped breathing when touched. I turned out to be a sodium channel blockage. Really cool. They drag this show out, but I still love it! LOL

What really bothers me is when a person has been suffering some sort of disease (usually fatal if not treated) for decades a doctor doesn't see it right away. I'm watching one of those right now. She ends up having Sjogrin syndrome which is a white blood cell disease or whatever. All of this really annoys me.

I thought the one about the woman who has two sets of DNA was interesting. It was called chimera I believe. I had never heard of anything like that and it's good there is lab work that can confirm the case.

Well, I don't quite remember the specific cases, but I really love watching this show! It really keeps you interested, and the diagnoses are always so fascinating, and unique.

I looked and it wasn't from Mystery ER or Diagnosis X, but I did come across something about Diagnosis:Unkown and I found an ep similar to the girl being poisened. Has anybody ever watched an Diagnosis:Unknown?

I love this show! Because it made me realize what I actually went through for the longest 6 years of my life! I knew my symptoms were too odd and I knew that the real conclusion wasn't found!! Thanks to the show I feel so much better knowing what road I went through. My favorite case was when the man (runner) who realizes that he has an all year round tan, and sometimes he felt like he was going to have a heart attack. I myself felt like I was going to have a heart attack at certain times. And boy were those years rough!! Don't want to go down that road again

Been wondering about my husband's condition if its not something simple what is it? looking for another opinions...

he lost his balance in the mid 90's ( family history of hearing problems, busted ear drum from botched tubes in ear op when he was a child) for the past couple of yrs we had been seeing a chiroprator together but he ended up getting acutely dizzy from the chiroprator even sitting up using the "baby device" our chiroprator was baffled and told us to get some neurological testing done. he hasnt seen the chiro since.

he also ate meat tainted with listeria last yr but didnt seem to get sick from it,

also he has excema (came on about 2003, had to quit his job they suspected it could be a reacton to chemicals but didnt know for sure) & usually in the summer its ok but it looks/seems just as if its winter. we have changed our soaps etc to natural ones free of toxic chemicals doesnt seem to change things.

knowing the show it makes me wonder if these ARE seperate issues, might not be.

for the dizziness hes has CT & MRI scans they ruled out any neurological problem & told to see ear/nose & throat dr & see what they say?

the only explaination is we were doing renvations so we moved to my old rm at my moms place for a couple of months w the mattress on the floor, seems a lame excuse. since he lost his balance hes learned to cope by sleeping elevated.

maybe you have some insight?? i really dont want him on pills if something else can be found. considering it took me so long to be diagnosised w PCOS.

could the new dizziness be caused by listeria even if u didnt seem to get sick from it?

    hope

    thanks

    cin

WE ARE DESPERATE FOR SOME HELP. I know four people now who all have the same problem, but no doctors can figure out what is wrong with them. Two of the people are family members, my son & my sister. A colleague of mine has a friend with the same type of problems, and also the ambulance driver that took my son to the hospital also has the same problem, and her doctors can't find anything either. She told my son eveyone thinks she's crazy because the doctors can't find out what is wrong with her. My colleague's friend has gone to a whole list of doctors with no results either. The problem is my son cannot eat or drink anything and keep it down. He has become very dehydrated, and his kidneys have failed three times in the last two months. He's been in and out of the hospitals with no help. He's lost 40 lbs. and is about ready to go mad! He can't take it anymore. He's talking about suicide, and I don't know what to do to help him. I'm very scared he's going to do something to hurt himself because of being in pain almost 24/7. The pain is horrible and the only thing that seems to even help a little is he sits in a hot, hot tub of water and that seems to help the pain a little. As soon as he gets out of the tub or trys to eat anything it all starts happening again. He's on disability because there's no way he can hold down a job. He spends 85% of his life in the tub. I've had the same problem from time to time but not nearly as bad as his. When his occurs, it lasts and lasts. I went about a week and then it subsided and hasn't come back. My sister is like my son. It's almost a daily occurance for her just like my son. I'm trying to reach the people that decide what cases they take for the show "Mistery Diagnosis." If anyone from that show sees this email, please, please contact me. My number at work is 610-798-0022 or my email is ttackett@aetnafelt.com. I'm begging anyone out there for help.

Do you know if there is a way to view past episodes? I am trying to come up with the one that aired on 9-7-09. I was about a woman that had a coradid artery disection in the brain. My husband was told that he has the same thing and that it is in-operable. My sister told me about it but had no way of recording the episode. She also told me that this woman started the FMD Group, I don't know what it is or where to find out about it. Can anyone help me out with this?

    Thanks

I think Mystery Diagnosis is a great show!! Gingersnapper7 - you said you record all of the programs? I am trying to find the one that was on recently where a woman was misdiagnoised as having Leukemia. I am trying to find out what the actual illness was and how it was treated. This is for a friend of mine who was just very rudely told by a doctor she had leukemia. His was very cold when giving her this information "You have leukemia" and walked out of the room. She wants to get a second opinion, and would like to have them test for this disease.

    Thanks!

Does anyone know how you can qualify for the show?? my daughter has an array of mysterious illness, and more popping up, and no one can come up with a definite answer. So far, it is pseudo tumor cerebri; adrenall insufficiency, migraines, edema, loss of perpheal vision, heart issues. All of this from a 33 yr old girl that was active and always on the run. She has a 9 yr old daughter. Got married 2 yrs ago, and all of this started right after. Began with bronchitis, and no one (we have gone to several University Hospitals in Chicago) can come up with a solution. She is in horrible pain on a daily basis and cannot not do much of anything so depression is setting in now. I take her to 99% of all appointments, but we live about 1/2 hour away, and I have to work also, so I cannot see her every day. It breaks my heart and dumbfounds me that 16 specialists so far cannot agree on anything!
