Initially, it appears that he simply has a lazy eye and needs glasses, but these corrective lenses don't help. His walking and talking abilities begin to deteriorate and he develops issues with his immune system, yet doctors fail to find out the cause, until one learns that he has unusually high levels of iron in his brain. It turns out that Zach has been suffering from an extremely rare condition called infantilel neuroaxonal dystrophy (NAD). Cheryl Marshall was always a happy girl, until she was about to start middle school. She began to sweat more than normal and developed an unpleasant odor.
