Hey, Should I Watch ABC Family's Mystery Girls?

Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling reunite for ABC Family's newest comedy, but are the former '90s stars enough of a draw for the series to work? Let's find out!

    • Just wow.

      Unspeakably bad.

I am a fan of Tori's, but she needs to stick to reality(ish). Also, not air her dirty laundry, cause that really left a bad taste in my mouth. Especially seeing her kids watching their parents fight and be filmed. It was odd and uncofortable to the max. Love you, Tor, but getting real here, your acting is hella stiff.

Jennie is great, and I still occaisionally watch What I Like About is good in silly comedy, but this is just way below her.moreless
    • Words Fail Me

OK, so it was only Episode 1, but this is biggest load of trash! Or am I missing something?

      And episode 2 gets worse!

3 episodes on and it is possibly the worst TV show I have ever seen, and coming from UK where every episode is almost the same for decades, that is saying something!

I really didn't think after three episodes this show should get worse, but it has! The show has failed the 4 episode test this site recommends, but I have to keep watching to see just hoiw much worse it can get! After all, it's not like 22 minutes per week in my life is very long!moreless
    • Quirky good ABC fun

It's light and fun and perfect for summer. I love the in-jokes and that they poke fun at their and others celebrity.
    • Finding the Funny Is part Of The Mystery Here

I have watched the first four episodes and it only seems to be getting worse with every episode. It was a little funny in the first two episodes but Tori Spelling's bad acting is just painful to watch. A person wouldn't know it from this show but she does have the talent to be a good actor. It's sad to think she had to be this exaggerated caricature of what I assume she thinks people think she is. I hope she finds a project in the future or develops another one down the road that respects her talent.

Jennie Garth is a definite highlight but overshadowed by her co-stars. This show needs to be cancelled so all involved can move on to other projects.moreless
    • Awful

My rating for this show is one point higher than the minimum allowed here. This point is for Jennie Garth, who would normally be worth at least 5 even on a mediocre show, but in this case, the other two main characters, along with the hack writing and annoying laugh track, make this a more than generous score. Crude and unfunny, it is unfortunately typical fare on the horribly misnamed ABC "Family" channel (see also the equally bad "Young & Hungry").moreless
